Device Inactivity Alert Rules
Understanding device inactivity is crucial for the care team or research team to prevent data loss and address patient or participant compliance issues when using wearable sensors. Device Inactivity Rules allow you to define how long a device can remain inactive before triggering an alert.
- Add Device Inactivity Alert Rules:
- Navigate to the “Device Inactivity Alert Rules” tab.
- Click on “Add ECG Patch Inactivity Alert Rules” to begin the configuration process.
- Set Inactivity Duration:
- Define the specific duration of inactivity that will trigger an alert. For example, setting an inactivity alert for 2 hours could indicate that the participant has left their mobile phone at home, causing the patch to be out of range.
- Flagging on the Web Portal:
- Indicate how the inactivity alerts should be flagged on the Web Portal to ensure that they are easily identifiable and can be addressed promptly.
- Set Up Notifications:
- If desired, configure notifications to be sent via email or SMS when an inactivity alert is triggered. This ensures that the relevant team members are immediately informed and can take appropriate action.
Note: When monitoring with the Multi Vital ECG Patch, data will be recorded on the device’s internal cache even if the data is not continuously uploaded. However, if you set a device inactivity alert for 2 hours (e.g., if the participant leaves their mobile phone at home while going to the store), it will still trigger an alert due to the lack of connectivity, despite the data being safely stored on the patch.
By proactively managing device inactivity, you can minimize the risk of data gaps and ensure continuous monitoring, thereby enhancing the reliability of your study or patient care process.
