ECG Full Disclosure View
When you select an item from the event list, the ECG Full Disclosure View presents the ECG waveform at the time of the event. The start and end of the event are highlighted with vertical green lines. This feature also allows you to scroll left or right to view the context surrounding the event, including the onset and offset of rhythm abnormalities. If additional data is needed, use the arrows to the right or left of the scroll bar to load more waveform data in the desired direction.
Annotations and Digital Caliper
To measure interval lengths on the ECG trace, click on the “Annotation Digital Caliper” button. This tool functions similarly to a physical caliper, allowing you to accurately measure intervals directly on the digital ECG waveform.
Within the same tool, you can also add annotations to capture your observations. Simply enter your notes in the available text boxes, either in the left pane or below the ECG trace. These annotations will be automatically saved in the patient’s or participant’s record and can be viewed in the list of events within the full disclosure view. If you are not the assigned physician, a notification will be sent to the patient’s or participant’s physician once the annotation is saved.
After saving, the annotation will appear in a list beneath the ECG trace. Its status will initially be marked as “NEED REVIEW” until the physician has reviewed it. If needed, annotations can be deleted by clicking on the trash icon next to the annotation.
Zoom-in View
To get a closer look at the patient’s or participant's waveform, you can use the “Full Screen” button. Clicking this button will open a pop-up viewer that allows you to zoom in and scroll through the ECG trace, making it easier to examine specific details of the waveform.
Mark Events to Add to Report
You can highlight events that you wish to include inpatient or participant reports, such as an ECG strip showing a typical AFib event. Mark the event, and it will be included in the ECG report.
Delete Events
If, upon review, you determine that an incident is not of interest, you can use the “Delete Event” tool to remove it from the event list. This is particularly useful for technicians reviewing events automatically detected by the algorithm, allowing them to discard false positives while annotating significant events to forward to a physician.
Deleting an event does not alter or erase the waveform data; it simply removes the incident from the list of detected events associated with the patient or participant.
Re-Categorize or Combine Events
You can re-categorize events to better reflect your assessment by clicking on the current event type and selecting the appropriate category from the drop-down menu.
If you need to merge multiple consecutive events into a single, longer event, click the “Combine” button. This allows you to select multiple events and combine them under a single event type.
Navigating Through Time
Beyond navigating through automatically detected incidents, you can also view the ECG waveform for any specific point in time where data has been captured. For instance, if the patient or participant reports a symptom at a certain time, you can review the rhythm during that period. To do this:
- Select the day.
- Choose an incident and press the “Jump to Time” button.
- Enter the desired start time.
- Select the duration of data to view (from 1 second to 2 minutes) from the drop-down menu.
- Press the submit button to load the waveform for that time period.
